Therefore, the change in the productive matrix represents a challenge and an opportunity for the Ecuadorian economy, which will allow job creation and the country's development. The applied methodology was a systematic review with a qualitative, descriptive, and narrative approach, also using the PRISMA method, which enabled a systematic review of all the studies and progress made regarding the productive matrix. The results highlight that strategies have been developed to bring about a change in the productive matrix, one of which is a shift towards a knowledge-based economy that can create new job opportunities in sectors such as biotechnology, information technology, and renewable energy.
