Beskrivelse
Summary:Bolívar, was carried out at the Veterinary Clinic of the State University of Bolívar, whose objectives were: to identify oral diseases, determine the existing relationship between oral diseases and food, in addition to establishing an adequate treatment based on the oral diseases identified according to the type of food. Carrying out an evaluation through a general examination and complete oral examination in sixty feline patients of different age, sex, race, weight from the San Miguel de Bolívar canton. For this investigation, a descriptive statistical model was applied that allowed analyzing particular cases, calculating percentages, means, frequencies and graphic design. 100% of the patients presented some type of oral disease due to ignorance of hygiene with pets by the owners and the type of food provided. Regarding the incidence of oral disease in relation to food, it was determined that patients who have been fed with the type of homemade food present oral diseases such as bacterial plaque (45%), tartar (18%), gingivitis (18%) , dental fracture (14%) and periodontal disease (5%), patients who consume dry food have (15%) periodontal disease, patients who consume mixed food have (36%) gingivitis, so it is concluded that the type of diet does influence the presentation of oral diseases, especially bacterial plaque and gingivitis. Preventive oral treatment (prophylaxis) was carried out in 53%, followed by combined treatment (prophylaxis plus meloxican) in 27% and finally pharmacological treatment (meloxican) in 20%.
