El narcotráfico y su incidencia en la inseguridad ciudadana en la ciudad de Ambato en el periodo 2017-2022.

This research aims to unravel the discourse that has been positioned in relation to that in Ecuador. Drug trafficking would be one of the main causes of the increase in citizen insecurity. The importance of the research is given by the topicality of the topic, since by the year 2022 this topic is the main concern of Ecuadorians. The problem of violence and insecurity also arises in the city of Ambato, which we have taken as an object of study to analyze the incidence of drug trafficking in the increase in citizen insecurity. For this purpose, the information and statistical data of the different crimes committed in the city, 19 FACULTAD DE JURISPRUDENCIA, CIENCIAS SOCIALES Y POLÍTICAS the drug trade dedicated to drug trafficking and micro-trafficking with socioeconomic indicators are considered to try to explain the causes and consequences of the problem of citizen insecurity in the city of Ambato. Within the current investigation, different ones are cited. The (mixed) quantitative-qualitative research methodology will allow us to compare the changes in socioeconomic indicators of drug trafficking and citizen insecurity over the years. It is important to carry out this investigation since it will allow us to unravel whether drug trafficking is, as is believed, the main cause of the increase in violence and citizen insecurity or is it the deterioration of the living conditions of Ecuadorians, in this case of the inhabitants of the city of Ambato the cause of this problem.
