| Sumari: | The purpose of the research was to evaluate the effect of intratesticular injection of cannabidiol (CBD) in guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) as a sterilizing agent. The research was carried out in the facilities of the family farm “Cabrera”, which is located in the Moraspamba sector. Methodologically, four treatments were established: T0: control, T1: 2 mg of CBD, T2: 4 mg of CBD and T3: 6 md of CBD: 6 md of CBD, crystallized CBD with 99% purity was used, the same that was diluted in DMSO, from this solution was made the scope of the concentrations proposed and 0.1 mL was injected in each testicle, 24 guinea pigs were used distributed 6 guinea pigs in each treatment, In addition, the arrival weight, weight gain, length, diameters and testicular weight were measured, and the histological conditions of the previously castrated testes were analyzed at three intervals; 1, 4 and 8 weeks post-injection. Also, clinically, the alterations in the parameters of the hematological biometry of the guinea pigs under study were analyzed, ending with the evaluation of the post-injection pain of CBD at 2, 4 and 8 hours. As results, it was determined that intratesticular injection of 2 mg (T1), 4 mg (T2) and 6 mg (T3) of CBD caused different degrees of sterility in the guinea pigs, also, this administration caused histological disorganization mediated by; loss of interstitial tissue continuity accompanied by hyperplasia of interstitial cells, degeneration of Leydig cells, alterations in the configuration of the seminiferous epithelium, azoospermia with total absence of mature spermatozoa, and, as for hematological variations, it was determined that the application of intratesticular CBD did not cause generalized hematological alterations, however, local inflammatory findings were visible due to the effect of tissue transgression at the time of intratesticular injection. Thus concluding that the intratesticular administration of CBD is a valuable alternative to provoke sterility in males of zootechnical interest. |
