Zonas susceptibles a deslizamientos y vulnerabilidad de los elementos expuestos, en la vía Guaranda – Gallo Rumi, periodo mayo – septiembre 2023

The present research work is carried out on the Guaranda - Gallo Rumi, road located to the south east of the city, which connects with the city of Riobamba in approximately 45 minutes. The objective of this study is to determine the areas susceptible to landslides and the exposed elements. to propose the respective risk reduction measures. The degree work consists of a mixed descriptive and field approach, using qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the areas susceptible to landslides are identified by applying the MOHR – COULOMB law methodology in which factors such as: density are taken into account. and ground angle in order to know the critical zones with chronic, very high, high, medium, low and stable characteristics of the study road. Through the GEO 5 software, the calculation of stable or unstable slopes is determined according to the results obtained in the investigation. To obtain the results of the degree of vulnerability of the exposed elements, the methodology of (UNDP; SNGR, 2011) was considered in order to evaluate the road system, drinking water and the electrical system, obtaining low levels. Regarding risk reduction measures, structural measures were established such as: the construction of retaining walls, reduction of the slope, construction of berms and non- structural measures such as: application of current regulations, including signage on the road, institutional strengthening, apply actions regarding the exposed elements.Keyworkds: SLIDES, VULNERABILITY, THREAT, ROAD NETWORK, REDUCTION MEASURES, RISK
