Agregar Etiqueta | Sumario: | The present ethnographic study consists of the description of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of El Chaupi Parish based on the collaboration provided by the inhabitants of the urban center and the neighborhoods that are in the surroundings, these people provided valuable information for the investigation since they are witnesses of these cultural processes, also in the Infocentro of El Chaupi I gathered information for the study. In this investigation, a problem could be evidenced, which is related to the technological advance and visit of foreign tourists who stay in the different hotel establishments to climb Los Illinizas, since the young people observe their behavior and they are coupling new customs, in this way They are losing the interest to conserve their cultural roots, this leads to that the elderly do not have with whom to share their experiences and knowledge, giving field to disappear with the passing of the years. The inhabitants of the parish are very kind, respectful, collaborators so it was easy to develop the interview directed to some outstanding people of the Parish, this questionnaire consisted of questions related to the knowledge of legends, stories, beliefs and games. Being able to develop their answers freely. With this ethnographic study that has been made, it is intended to demonstrate the Oral Culture that exists in El Chaupi Parish, through a written document that contains information about some legends, stories and beliefs that is kept in the memory of its inhabitants.
