| Shrnutí: | This research, which addresses the "Assessment of competence in the learning processes of students in the seventh year of Basic Education School Gonzalez Suarez during the 2011-2012 school year." Once justified the work proceeds to the formulation of the problem in question form as well as the approach of the objectives and hypothesis, which holds that it "Assessment Instruments influence the application of skills with performance criteria Natural Science in the seventh year of Basic Education School González Suárez parish of San Sebastian, Cantón Chimbo during the 2011-2012 school year.” It took the Operationalization of the variables to have conceptual elements to guide the research process. In Chapter I, Scientific Theory, discusses in detail the assessment in education, history, types, forms, criteria, types of tools, skills, types of skills, perform a macro view of the Competency Assessment Project, definitions and criteria, characteristics, principles, standards of assessment, learning process, origins, theories, learning cycle, learning skills, underpinned by principles, laws and processes to follow, for it provides an analysis of these issues from the several contemporary authors approach which gives additional value to the scientific support raised. It sets out the definitions of relevant terms are immersed in scientific theory and need to be defined for better understanding of the reader.
