| Summary: | The Ethnographic Study of the Cultural Patrimony of the San Lorenzo Parish, Guaranda Canton, Bolívar Province, was carried out with the objective of characterizing the habitants of the parish and identifying the Tangible and Intangible Cultural Patrimony and its characteristics, history, way of life, traditions, customs of the urban area, as well as in the most important communities such as: Canduya, Guapungoto, Marcopamba, Sauce Alto, Sauce-Naguan and Census-Naguan. As a result of the ethnographic study, the necessary information was obtained from the parish of San Lorenzo to capture it and detail it in the final report, this would not have been possible without the support provided by the habitants to obtain important information such as: legends, traditions (Vía cruces and corpus cristo) that is typical of the sector, the patron Saint Lorenzo celebrations, the Virgen of the Remedios, the Virgen of Tránsito, and Santa Cecilia that are celebrated each year accompanied by the town's own bands as it is known as paradise musical precisely because of the musical culture. In addition, to know the way of life of the settlers, their beliefs, legends, custom and innate traditions those are part of their daily life. Another important aspect that is still maintained during the festivities are the traditional games such as the palo encebado, the gallo compadre, the enchanted pots and the ribbons that allow the interaction and happiness among the habitants which leads to these traditions, customs follow current, forming part of the culture of the people. Hence the importance of ethnographic study to contribute to the cultural strengthening of the parish and as an option for the tourist development of the town, which is a phenomenon of special interest and a magnificent opportunity for development, especially those territories and cities with a wealth patrimonial little exploited, as possible tourist resource.
