Samenvatting:The objective of this research is to analyze the role of parents in the socio- emotional development of children aged 4 to 5 years at the “Teresa León de Noboa” Early Education Center in Guaranda during the 2023-2024 academic period. The study has a mixed approach, with a bibliographic, explanatory and descriptive methodology, using techniques such as parent surveys through a questionnaire and observation through a structured sheet. The sample is made up of 25 children and 25 parents. The research seeks to evaluate the most common parenting practices, such as authoritarian, permissive and democratic styles, and how these influence the development of socio-emotional skills in children. It is expected to identify the family dynamics that favor or hinder the socio-emotional development of children and how the involvement of parents in the socio-emotional development of children. The expected results include the finding of a significant correlation between the type of parenting and the socio-emotional skills of children, highlighting the role of emotional support, consistency and affection. It is projected that the proposed intervention strategies will strengthen the family-school relationship, promoting awareness-raising activities and workshops for parents on effective parenting practices. This research will contribute to the creation of a more comprehensive educational environment, which enhances children's emotional learning, and will improve parenting practices, benefiting the educational and social community of the city of Guaranda
