Yhteenveto:In the present Project og title entitled: “ALIMONY HABITS IN OLDER ADULTS WITH HYPERTENSION, HIPERTENSIVE CLUB OF THE IESS GUARANDA BASIC HOPSITAL. PERIOD JULY – DECEMBER 2018”; It is necessary to mention that eating habits are a set of behaviors acquired by each individual, by the repetition of acts regarding the selection, preparation and consumption of food. In our research work was formulated the problema that focuses on the eating habits of patients with hypertension, has as a general objective: to know the eating habits in elderly with hipertensión, hypertensive club of the Basic Hopsital IESS Guaranda. Fort he collection of information we relied on a survey applied to older adults, this information was statistically analyzed, obtaining as a result that the majority of older adults with arterial hypertension was female with 67%, while 33% were made up of older adults; as well as it was posible to appreciate that the majority of patients with hypertension were in an average age of 70 to 74 years; another of the results obtained was that the majority of older adults with high blood pressure do not have adequate eating habits, for this reason we were responsible for applying our third specific objetive, wich consisted in educating the patient about the appropriate habits to carry out according to the pathology that they present as hypertension is thet the pharmacological treatment is complemented with healthy eating habits, this way seniors with hypertension belonging to the hipertensive club of the Basic IESS Guaranda Hospital will have a more bearable life as it is worth mentioning that hypertension is a chronic noncommunicable disease (CNCD) in which the blood vessels have a persistently high tensión which can damage them, that is, high blood pressure is incurable but it can be trated and in this way avoid complications. The methodology used for the application of the educational chat plan was the technique of participative expository teaching. KEYWORDS: eating habits, hypertension, older adults.
