| Riassunto: | Burnout syndrome has become a significant challenge in the workplace, affecting the mental, emotional health, and performance of employees. This research, titled “Burnout Syndrome and Work Performance in the Employees of the Juan Pío de Mora Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd., San Miguel Branch, Bolívar Province, Year 2024”, aims to determine the influence of burnout syndrome on the work performance of the cooperative's employees. The methodology used was a quantitative approach, employing the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) as the primary tool to assess levels of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment. Surveys were conducted with all employees of the branch with at least one year of service, complemented by performance evaluations provided by the institution. The results revealed a high prevalence of burnout syndrome, evidenced by elevated levels of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, along with a decrease in personal accomplishment. An inverse relationship was observed between burnout and work performance, reflected in lower productivity, reduced job satisfaction, and a decline in service quality. In conclusion, burnout syndrome negatively impacts employee performance, compromising both their personal well-being and organizational efficiency. It is recommended to implement psychological support programs, stress management strategies, and training focused on workplace well-being to mitigate these effects within the cooperative and, consequently, improve the quality of service in San Miguel.
