Opis
Streszczenie:This study investigates “The use of concrete material in the learning of polynomial addition and subtraction in ninth-grade students of Basic Education at Unidad Educativa “5 de Octubre” in Cantón Echeandía, Bolívar Province, during the 2024 academic period.” The general objective is to propose the use of concrete material to improve the learning of these algebraic operations. The research adopts a mixed approach with a quasi-experimental design, utilizing analytical-synthetic, statistical, and interpretative methods; surveys were applied to parents, interviews were conducted with teachers, and classroom observations were made to collect data from 100 students. The results revealed that 75% of the parents perceive frequent difficulties in their children with polynomial addition and subtraction, and 80% support the implementation of concrete materials; classroom observations showed that 61.1% of the students face significant challenges in understanding these concepts, while the teacher interview highlighted the need for resources and training to implement concrete materials. It is concluded that students face significant challenges in learning polynomial addition and subtraction, and that the use of concrete material could enhance understanding and interest in the subject. The research underscores the importance of providing teachers with appropriate concrete materials and training for their effective use. A guide is proposed for the implementation of concrete material in the teaching of these algebraic concepts, with the potential to significantly improve the teaching-learning process
