Shrnutí:The present research project aimed to enhance recreational reading through the use of the educational application “Teachy”, supported by artificial intelligence, among sixth-grade students of Basic General Education. It emerged from the identified problem of low reading interest and limited reading comprehension among students, which negatively impacts their academic performance and personal development. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach with a research design that employed methods such as observation, interviews, and document analysis to identify needs and assess the impact of the intervention. The implementation of “Teachy” took place in a controlled environment, promoting playful, interactive, and personalized activities that stimulated students’ motivation and reading habits. The results revealed a significant improvement in students' attitudes toward reading, active participation, and the development of reading skills, demonstrating that technology can serve as a strategic ally in educational processes. The discussion of findings highlighted the importance of integrating digital tools with pedagogical intent into the classroom to foster more meaningful learning experiences. Furthermore, it can be stated that the use of “Teachy” contributes positively to the development of recreational reading, provided its use is guided and tailored to the educational context.
