In the first chapter this paper describes the characteristics of the participatory budget, its key components, the relationship of local development and meaningful experiences are discussed concerning the successful implementation of participatory budgeting. In second chapter the research area is delimited, methodologies and tools, based on several proposed formats to monitor and follow up the participatory budget process are defined. The third chapter presents the results obtained and systematized both interviews and surveys, so finally in the fourth chapter develop a proposal to improve the implementation of participatory budgeting and social impact. |

The third chapter presents the results obtained and systematized both interviews and surveys, so finally in the fourth chapter develop a proposal to improve the implementation of participatory budgeting and social impact.Este trabajo investigativo analiza la implementación del presupuesto participativo en el GAD San Miguel, indagando en sus características, sus limitaciones y alcances, para en base a ellas desarrollar una propuesta que permita mejorar el sistema de presupuesto participativo y con ello la vida de la comunidad San Migueleña. En un primer capítulo este trabajo expone las características del presupuesto participativo, sus componentes fundamentales, la relación que guarda con el desarrollo local y se analizan experiencias significativas en torno a la aplicación exitosa del presupuesto participativo. En segundo capítulo se delimita el ámbito de investigación, se definen las metodologías y herramientas, basándome en varios formatos propuestos para monitorear y dar seguimiento al proceso de presupuesto participativo.
