| description | At a global level, religion is a system of beliefs, practices and values shared by a group of people who seek to give meaning to life, providing an ethical and moral framework, which is why research has focused on understanding religion, regarding conduct and ethics and thus knowing the influence of ascetic practices, such as fasting, vigil and poverty, carried out by the members of the "Peace and Love" Missionary Church located in the Quinsaloma canton, Province of Los Ríos. This study has an analytical and field approach, since it is based on the direct and personal analysis of the experiences of a specific group of individuals. The research focused on understanding, from the perspective of those who make up this evangelical organization, how these practices influence their daily lives, their beliefs and their personal ethics since it will be known from the beginning how they approached it. The total population of the "Peace and Love" Church consists of fifty people, for this study it was decided to select a representative sample composed of five individuals, each with distinctive characteristics within the church. The method used was qualitative, using life stories as the main instrument to collect relevant information about ascetic practices and their influence on the lives of members of the Church. Keywords: Social Action, religion, ascetic practices, ethics, gospel, conduct.A nivel mundial, la religión es un sistema de creencias, prácticas y valores compartidos por un grupo de personas que buscan dar sentido a la vida, proporcionando un marco ético y moral, la cual por aquello la investigación se ha enfocado en conocer la religión, en cuanto la conducta y ética y de ese modo conocer la influencia de las prácticas ascéticas, tales como el ayuno, la vigilia y la pobreza, llevadas a cabo por los miembros de la Iglesia Misionera "Paz y Amor" ubicada en el cantón Quinsaloma, Provincia de Los Ríos. Este estudio tiene enfoque analítico y de campo, dado que se basa en el análisis directo y personal de las experiencias de un grupo específico de individuos. La investigación se centró en comprender, desde la perspectiva de quienes conforman esta organización evangélica, cómo estas prácticas influyen en sus vidas cotidianas, sus creencias y su ética personal ya que se conocerá desde unos inicios como fue el acercamiento a la misma. La población total de la Iglesia "Paz y Amor" consta de cincuenta personas, para este estudio se optó por seleccionar una muestra representativa compuesta por cinco individuos, cada uno con características distintivas dentro de la iglesia. El método empleado fue cualitativo, utilizando historias de vida como el principal instrumento para recopilar información relevante sobre las prácticas ascéticas y su influencia en la vida de miembros de la Iglesia.Universidad Estatal de Bolívar.
