Čoahkkáigeassu:The determinants of health are a set of biological, social, cultural, and environmental factors that influence the health status of people and populations; The Objective of this study is to: Identify the health determinants associated with the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections (STI) in patients and female sex workers (mts) treated at the Yaguachi Basic Hospital. Methodology: Quantitative approach, descriptive level, descriptive correlational, transversal design. Study population: 30 users and 59 sex workers; To collect information, a questionnaire was used to determine the prevalence of STIs, the sociodemographic characteristics of the groups and the determining factors. Results: Sociodemographic characteristics of users with STIs, age 25 to 31 years 33.3%, female gender 73.3%, secondary educational level 60%, household chores 46.7%, urban origin 66.7%. The following biological determinants were found: age of users with STIs from 25 to 31 years old 33.3%, mts 44.1%; social determinants: secondary educational level in the group of users with STIs 60% and mts 66.1%, overcrowding in the home of users with STIs 60% and mts 57.6%; behavioral determinants: little physical exercise in users with STIs 56.7% and mts 47.5%, 84.7% of mts practice polygamy, 64.4% of mts consumed alcohol. For the hypothesis test, Pearson Correlation was used, obtaining p-value of 0.003, which proves the alternative hypothesis. The implementation of the educational program achieved 90% effectiveness in the activities in users with STIs and 86% in mts. Conclusion: If there is a relationship between health determinants and the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections. The educational program applying the triptych as an educational technique achieved the objective of promoting healthy lifestyles for the prevention and restoration of health in case of STIs in sex users and workers.
