Description
Summary:Bovine brucellosis is an infectious pathology that compromises animal welfare and causes great economic losses for farmers, this disease causes abortions and is caused by the bacterium Brucella abortus, in this research the prevalence of bovine brucellosis (Brucella abortus) was estimated in the parish General Proaño, using the rose bengal technique and confirmation with competitive Elisa, methodologically 100 animals were selected distributed in different sectors of this agro-ecological zone, Methodologically, 100 animals were selected from different sectors of this agro-ecological zone, from which 5 mL of venous blood was collected from the coccygeal vein and 1 mL of blood serum was obtained, which was used for the diagnosis of the disease by applying the rose bengal test and those that were found to be seropositive were reconfirmed by applying the competitive ELISA immunoassay method, From these clinical analyses it was determined that in the parish of General Proaño there is 0% prevalence of the pathology in question, concluding that there is no scientific evidence of the existence of bovine brucellosis as a primary cause of abortions and gestational losses in the study area.
