Objetivos: Especificar la duración de los diferentes tiempos quirúrgicos del trasplante hepático ortotópico de donante cadavérico; indicar el tiempo de estadía hospitalaria posterior al trasplante hepático; e identificar las causas de reintervenciones quirúrgicas tempranas y retrasplante. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio no experimental, con acción observacional y descriptiva entre enero de 2013 a diciembre de 2016. Resultados: Se incluyeron 34 pacientes con un total de 35 trasplantes hepáticos de donante cadavérico. El promedio de duración de la cirugía en el receptor es de 7 horas. El promedio de tiempo de isquemia caliente fue de 46 minutos y el promedio de tiempo de isquemia fría fue menor de 8 horas. El promedio de estancia hospitalaria fue de 9 días. Hubieron 6 reintervenciones quirúrgicas, la causa más frecuente fue el sangrado postquirúrgico con 12% de frecuencia y la indicación para el ReTH fue la trombosis de la arteria hepática con 3%. Conclusiones: el Programa de Trasplante Hepático del Hospital Luis Vernaza de Guayaquil posee tiempos de preservación óptimos al ser un centro procurador y trasplantador de órganos y las otras variables son similares a las reportadas por otros centros médicos especializados en este tipo de intervención quirúrgica en el mundo. |

There are indications, contraindications, and well established surgical procedures for this type of surgical intervention. Objectives: To specify the duration of different surgical times of deceased donor liver transplantation; Indicate the length of hospital stay following liver transplantation; and to identify the causes of early surgical reinterventions and retransplantation. Materials and methods: A non-experimental study was carried out, with observational and descriptive action between January 2013 and December 2016. Results: 34 patients with a total of 35 deceased donor liver transplants were included. The average duration of surgery in the recipient was 7 hours. The mean warm ischemia time was 46 minutes and the mean cold ischemia time was less than 8 hours. The average hospital stay was 9 days. There were 6 surgical reinterventions, the most frequent cause was the postoperative bleeding with 12% of frequency and the indication for retransplantation was hepatic artery thrombosis with 3%.
