Materiales Y Métodos: Estudio observacional transversal analítico de 110 pacientes con cirrosis hepática en los que estudio mediante video endoscopía digestiva alta (VEDA) la presencia de gastropatía portal hipertensiva. Resultados: La prevalencia de la gastropatía portal hipertensiva es del 64,5%. Se encontró una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la presencia de GPH y várices esofágicas (p=0,05). Conclusiones: La gastropatía portal hipertensiva se asocia a la severidad de la hipertensión portal y la enfermedad hepática. |

It presents in all the digestive tract and is one of the causes of Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding. Objective: Determine the prevalence of PHG in the Gastroenterology Department at the Luis Vernaza Hospital period July 2014 – July 2016. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional observational study of 110 patients with chronic liver disease was carried out, in which the endoscopic presence of portal hypertensive gastropathy was assessed. Results: PHG was observed in 64, 5% of the 110 patients. A significant association between portal hypertensive gastropathy and esophageal varix was found (p=0, 05).
