Este fenómeno coincide con el aumento de movilidad en la población trabajadora formal y económicamente activa, así como, a las políticas sobre la notificación de accidentes de trabajo en los últimos años. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar el nivel de riesgo de accidentes in itínere a una población trabajadora de un Hospital Docente a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario directo. Es un estudio descriptivo realizado a 1041 trabajadores del sector sanitario de la Ciudad de Cuenca a través de la aplicación del cuestionario “Encuesta para validación de riesgo de accidente en itínere”. Se obtuvo un nivel de riesgo alto en el 87,8 % y riesgo importante en el 12,1 % de la población en estudio, factores como edad, antigüedad laboral, medio de transporte y tiempo de traslado se correlacionan significantemente con el nivel de riesgo de ocurrencia de accidentes in itínere, se establecieron diferencias significativas en edades especialmente en trabajadores de 16 - 54 años de edad en puestos de salud sometidos a prolongadas horas de trabajo entre 24 y 36 horas. El presente estudio abre la posibilidad de realizar investigaciones futuras sobre el efecto de las intervenciones en las poblaciones de riesgo identificadas. |

This phenomenon coincides with the increase of mobility in the formally and economically active working population, as well as with the policies on the notification of work accidents in recent years. The objective of this study is to determine the level of risk of accidents in itínere to a working population of a Teaching Hospital through the application of a direct questionnaire. It is a descriptive study carried out to 1041 workers of the sanitary sector of the City of Cuenca through the application of the questionnaire "Survey for validation of accident risk in itínere". A high level of risk was obtained in 87.8% and significant risk in the 12.1% of the study population, factors such as age, seniority, means of transport and time of transfer are significantly correlated with the level of risk of occurrence of accidents in itínere, significant differences were established in ages especially in workers of 16 - 54 years of age in health posts subjected to prolonged working hours between 24 and 36 hours.
