| description | El presente trabajo tiene por objeto analizar la importancia de la planeación estratégica en las pymes del sector de comidas rápidas, tomando como segmento de estudio a los negocios de esta categoría que operan en el norte de la Ciudad de Guayaquil. En lo que respecta al problema de investigación, se identificó en base a una observación previa que por lo general, entre los limitantes que poseen las pymes se encuentra la escasa utilización de planificación estratégica. Para obtener mayor información con respecto al tema, se aplicó una investigación bibliográfica y descriptiva aplicando herramientas cualitativas, las mismas que permitieron a la autora obtener información tanto de fuentes primarias y fuentes secundarias, las cuales sirvieron para complementar y sustentar el estudio. En este caso, como resultado se identificó que en su mayoría las pymes carecen de una planificación estratégica debido al desconocimiento y falta de recursos. Sin embargo, existen pymes que de manera informal y empírica han implementado la planificación que a pesar de no estar debidamente estructurada ha generado resultados positivos para el negocio. |

With regard to the research problem, was identified on the basis of a previous observation that in general, between the limitations that have SMES is the low level of use of strategic planning. In addition due to the fast food market in the sector of study is widely saturated, which in turn affects not only the level of development of SMES, but also reduces their ability to compete effectively. For more information on the subject, is applied a bibliographic research and descriptive, the same that allowed the author information of both primary sources and secondary sources, which served to complement and support the study.
