Este análisis se efectúa como un estudio no experimental longitudinal retrospectivo, de carácter descriptivo en base a la información que dispone la organización y que lo reporta al Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (IESS). Los resultados alcanzados son de sumo interés pudiendo encontrar que no hay diferencia significativa entre hombres y mujeres para que ocurra un accidente “in itínere”, pero si evidencia que el crecimiento de este tipo de accidentes no muestra una tendencia controlada, sino un crecimiento que ha llegado hasta duplicarse entre un año y otro. El estudio constituye un corto ejemplo de aquello que se puede y debe hacer a nivel nacional en aquellas instituciones reguladoras de la gestión de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional, que cuentan con la información de todas las empresas y sectores productivos. Cuenta también la importancia de hacerlo a nivel específico de cada empresa con el objetivo de establecer medidas preventivas y correctivas internas que permitan controlar la accidentalidad “in itínere”. |

This analysis is carried out as a retrospective longitudinal nonexperimental study, of a descriptive nature based on the information available to the organization and which reports it to Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (IESS).
