Agregar Etiqueta | Sumario: | One of the main environmental problems in Ecuador is the lack of awareness towards the quality of hydraulic resources knowing that they contribute to the economic productivity and welfare of society. In the following study, the hydraulic quality of Rio Piñas in its urban sector was determined using the Water Quality Index (WQI) established by Brown. It was executed using three sampling campaigns during the months of April, July, October, where 4 points were established along 6183m of watercourse. As a result of the sampling it was understandable that the WQI of the river in the first point was 80, which attributed to good water quality, while in points 2,3,and 4 the values obtained were 68, 56, y 59 respectively representing regular water quality. From this it could be concluded that the principal source of contamination was microbiological, a product of the residual waters generated by the locals in Piñas. |
