Siendo consumido tanto por hombres y mujeres a diferentes edades. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la incidencia y prevalencia del consumo de alprazolam y clonazepam en el Hospital IESS La Libertad para la identificación de que pacientes atendidos en La Libertad son más propenso a consumir BZD. Para realizar esto, se analizó información de pacientes que consumieron por primera vez BZD entre el 2016 hasta el 2020. Este trabajo se desarrolló aplicando una metodología exploratoria - descriptiva con ayuda del sistema informático del IESS (AS400), tabulando tablas, aplicando incidencia acumulada y prevalencia de periodo. Como resultados, se observó que las mujeres tuvieron mayor porcentaje de incidencia que los hombres. La edad media de consumo fue de 41 a 50 años y el medicamento con mayor prescripción fue el clonazepam líquido oral 2,5 mg/ ml. La prevalencia acumulada indicó que existió una mayor prevalencia de consumo en mujeres, la edad con mayor consumo son las personas mayores de 70 años y el medicamento con el consumo más duradero fue el clonazepam líquido oral 2,5 mg / ml. Como conclusión, se determinó que de las 1204 personas que tuvieron recetas de medicamento psicotrópico el 58% son mujeres teniendo un índice más bajo en hombre con el 42% de prescripciones. Validado por el portal VigiAccess que indica que las mujeres tienen el 54% de consumo de Alprazolam y en Clonazepam el 55%.The consumption of benzodiazepines has increased worldwide due to their therapeutic properties such as anticonvulsant, sedative, muscle relaxant. These benzodiazepines regularly are being consumed by both men and women at different ages. The study’s objective is to analyze the incidence and prevalence of the consumption of alprazolam and clonazepam at the Hospital “IESS La Libertad.” Additionally, we will identify what sex and age patients attended in La Libertad are more likely to consume it. We analyze the information of patients attending the IEES Hospital between 2016 and 2020. The work was developed by applying an exploratory-descriptive methodology with the help of the IESS computer system (AS400), tabulating tables, applying cumulative incidence and prevalence of the period. The results showed that women had a higher incidence percentage than men, the average age of consumption is 41 to 50 years, and the drug with the most prescription was clonazepam lq. Oral 2.5 mg/ml, the accumulated prevalence indicated a higher prevalence of consumption in women, the age with the highest consumption is people over 70 years of age, and the drug with the most extended consumption was Clonazepam lq.
