Para la identificación las dificultades de lectoescritura se emplearon los instrumentos VMI, T.A.L.E y Prolec-R, a un total de 22 niños derivados por presuntas dificultades en esta área. De estos resultados se seleccionaron a los 18 participantes del estudio que efectivamente presentaron dificultades de lectoescritura. Se aplicó la escala de autoconcepto de Piers-Harris, siendo la segunda variable de estudio. Los resultados de los participantes reflejaron que el 94% posee dificultades de lectoescritura en la parte fonológica y un 6% presenciaron dificultades en ambas áreas. La mayor afectación de autoconcepto estuvo dirigida al aspecto físico; así mismo, se confirmó que los participantes con mayores dificultades en la lectoescritura, manifestaron dificultades en relación al aspecto conductual, lo cual limitaría su proceso de aprendizaje. Finalmente se concluye que el desarrollo de la individualidad dentro del contexto escolar es un elemento determinante, por lo tanto, el fortalecimiento de su autoconcepto depende del grado de satisfacción y actividad social que posea el sujetoThe present work called influence of literacy difficulties in self-concept in children aged 7 to 12 years, is based on a quantitative approach, descriptive scope, cross-sectional, and non-experimental design, because no manipulation of their variables that prove the influence of the relationship between literacy and self-concept, rather it is directed towards a characterization of the subject. For the identification of literacy difficulties, the VMI, T.A.L.E and Prolec-R instruments were used for a total of 22 children derived from alleged difficulties in this area. From these results, the 18 study participants were selected who did indeed have literacy difficulties. The Piers-Harris self-concept scale was applied, being the second study variable. The results of the participants reflected that 94% have literacy difficulties in the phonological part and 6% had difficulties in both areas. The greatest involvement of self-concept was directed to the physical aspect; Likewise, it was confirmed that the participants with the greatest difficulties in literacy expressed difficulties in relation to the behavioral aspect, which would limit their learning process.
