América Latina es una amplia región con una alta población. Es de gran importancia conocer los avances que los diferentes países que la componen han realizado con respecto a la detección temprana de TEA. Para ello, se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica mediante la identificación de normativas legales y administrativas en páginas oficiales de cada país, y la búsqueda de investigaciones y estudios de adaptación y validación de herramientas de detección temprana de TEA en población de América Latina, usando bibliotecas virtuales. Se tomó como muestra 22 países de la región. Se determinó que los países de América Latina que presentan mayores avances son: México, Argentina, Brasil, Chile y Uruguay, y los que tienen menos avances son Guatemala, Haití Honduras, Nicaragua, Guayana y Surinam. Por tanto, los avances entre los países de la región son desiguales, habiendo países con buena organización legal y administrativa del proceso y países en los que aún no cuentan con normativas legales o administrativas que aseguren su cumplimientoThe first years of life is the most important stage to detect the presence of warning signs of neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, for immediate intervention. Latin America is a large region with a high population. It is of great importance to know the advances that the different countries that compose it have made with respect to the early detection of ASD. For this, a bibliographic review has been carried out through the identification of legal and administrative regulations in official pages of each country, and the search for research and studies of adaptation and validation of early detection tools for ASD in the Latin American population, using libraries virtual. 22 countries in the region were taken as a sample. It was determined that the Latin American countries with the greatest progress are: Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, and those with the least progress are Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guyana and Suriname.
