Se debe conocer la farmacodinamia y farmacocinética de los fármacos que se utilizaran para la analgesia después del acto quirúrgico de terceros molares. Es importante tener un diagnóstico, tratamiento y manejo de los medicamentos correctos, conocer el tipo de intervención quirúrgica (simple-compleja) que se va a realizar, este dato dependerá de la clasificación según Pell y Gregory o de Winter pudiendo así manejar el grado de dolor posterior a la cirugía realizada. Tomar en cuenta estos factores ayudara a mejorar, controlar y disminuir los síntomas dolorosos posteriores a una intervención quirúrgica de terceros molares teniendo así mejores beneficios para el paciente. Este trabajo de titulación nace de la problemática del correcto manejo del dolor en pacientes que han sido intervenidos quirúrgicamente de terceros molares, se realizó una revisión literaria correspondiente al tema y se obtuvo datos a través de una ficha de registro la cual me proporcionó información de 178 pacientes atendidos por los estudiantes de noveno semestre ciclo II 2019-2020 en la Facultad Piloto de Odontología. Se concluyó que el fármaco analgésico de mayor uso fue el paracetamol 87% y el antinflamatorio fue el ibuprofeno con 49%.El presente trabajo pretende aclarar dudas y mejorar los conocimientos para una correcta elección del tratamiento post extracción quirúrgica de terceros molares.Painful symptoms after the intervention of third molars occur as long as there is no knowledge about the pathophysiology of pain, its components and its receptors as well as the inappropriate use of medications. It is essential to know that pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs are used for analgesia after the third molar surgical act. It is important to have a diagnosis, treatment and management of the correct medications to know the type of surgical intervention (simple-complex) that is going to be performed. This information depend on the classification according to Pell and Gregory or Winter and thus the aforementioned facilitates the management of the degree of pain after surgery. Taking these factors into account will help professionals improve, control and reduce the painful symptoms after third molar surgery, thus having better benefits on the patient. This research work stems from the problem of the correct management of pain in patients who have undergone surgery of third molars; a literary review was made and data were obtained through a registration form which provided information about 178 patients attended by the students of the ninth semester cycle II 2019-2020 in the Pilot School of Dentistry at the University of Guayaquil. In all, the most commonly used analgesic drug was paracetamol with 87% and the anti-inflammatory was ibuprofen with 49%.
