Este trabajo se estructuró en el marco teórico se describió todos los términos relacionados a la red HFC (híbrido de fibra coaxial) que permitieron fijar los criterios y especificaciones convenientes para la realización de un excelente diseño de red HFC. Luego de la elaboración del marco teórico se desarrolló la metodología de la investigación donde se detalló el diseño, modalidad que fue de carácter bibliográfica, el tipo de investigación que fue identificado como proyecto factible, población y muestra que a través de un cálculo permitió conocer el tamaño de la muestra que debía ser encuestada para determinar la factibilidad de la elaboración del diseño en el sector, además de su implementación a futuro. Una vez desarrollada la metodología, se estableció el análisis de la propuesta a través del ciclo de vida del proyecto, donde se describió toda la información obtenida mediante la investigación de campo, y a través del software OptiSystem se pudo visualizar el comportamiento de la red.The objective of this degree project is to carry out an infrastructure design and evaluation of HFC network for the Socio Vivienda 3 sector, a rural area located northeast of the city of Guayaquil that currently does not have an internet service of excellent quality and speed, for this reason, a network design proposal was made using optical fiber, a guided transmission medium that will guarantee the improvement of the service satisfying the need that exists in the sector. This work was structured in the theoretical framework where all the terms related to the HFC network (coaxial fiber hybrid) were described, which allowed to establish the criteria and convenient specifications for the realization of an excellent HFC network design. After the elaboration of the theoretical framework, the methodology of the research was developed, where the design was detailed, modality that was of bibliographic character, the type of research that was identified as feasible project, population and sample that through a calculation allowed to know the size of the sample that should be surveyed to determine the feasibility of the elaboration of the design in the sector, in addition to its implementation in the future. Once the methodology was developed, the analysis of the proposal was established through the life cycle of the project, where all the information obtained through field research was described, and through the OptiSystem software it was possible to visualize the behavior of the network.Universidad de Guayaquil.
