La indicación del tratamiento antirretroviral altamente efectivo se da a partir de las 13-16 semanas de gestación para conseguir una carga viral suprimida o indetectable. En este estudio se determinó el virus mediante pruebas de tamizaje de 3era y 4ta generación a mujeres de 18 a 35 años en la Maternidad Matilde Hidalgo de Procel de mayo del 2019 a febrero 2020. El resultado muestra que las embarazadas con VIH se encuentran entre 28 a 32 años (32%). La población en estudio inicio su vida sexual a muy temprana edad comprendida entre 15 a 16 años (36%). Se diagnostico el virus en el 1er trimestre del embarazo (39%), se administró rápidamente el tratamiento antirretroviral Tenofovir / Emtricitabina + Efavirenz (61%) a pacientes con menor a 20 semanas de gestación. Conclusión, gracias a la rápida detección del virus se pudo emplear un esquema de tratamiento altamente eficaz en la cual se adhirió correctamente a la gestante con el fin de disminuir los riegos de transmisión del VIH de madre e hijo.The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a potential risk during pregnancy if it is not diagnosed early, one of the most frequent routes of infection is vertical transmission. The indication for highly effective antiretroviral treatment is given from 13-16 weeks of gestation to achieve a suppressed or undetectable viral load. In this study, the virus was determined through 3rd and 4th generation screening tests for women aged 18 to 35 at the Matilde Hidalgo Maternity in Procel from May 2019 to February 2020. The result shows that pregnant women with HIV are among 28 at 32 years (32%). The study population began their sexual life at an early age of 15 to 16 years (36%). The virus was diagnosed in the 1st trimester of pregnancy (39%), the antiretroviral treatment Tenofovir / Emtricitabine + Efavirenz (61%) was rapidly administered to patients with less than 20 weeks of gestation. Conclusion, thanks to the rapid detection of the virus, a highly effective treatment scheme could be used in which the pregnant woman was correctly adhered in order to reduce the risks of mother-child transmission of HIV.Universidad de Guayaquil.
