This project aims to introduce and analyze the influence of podcasts as a new tool for studying the English language because this audio content may focus on real context and daily life situations, which allows students to get used to phonetics. Podcasts are now very popular among new generations and can be used to reinforce extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in students to develop the English language. These authentic materials may be used to explore different topics and to promote independent learners. This research also proposes a booklet based on the “Ministry of Ecuadorian Education” content and vocabulary, to use as a guide to complement the listening process with pre-listening, during-listening, and post-listening activities for A.1.1 level students to improve the understanding, decoding of message and increase the level of students’ performance. Este proyecto de investigación enfrenta la problemática falta de comprensión auditiva en estudiantes de nivel A.1.1 y cómo el idioma inglés les resulta difícil debido a la inexistencia de un ambiente adecuado en inglés y cómo se pueden utilizar las nuevas tecnologías para mejorarlo. Este proyecto tiene como objetivo presentar y analizar la influencia de los podcasts como una nueva herramienta para el estudio del idioma inglés, ya que estos contenidos de audio pueden centrarse en contextos reales y situaciones de la vida diaria, lo que permite a los estudiantes acostumbrarse a la fonética. Los podcasts son ahora muy populares entre las nuevas generaciones y pueden utilizarse para reforzar la motivación extrínseca e intrínseca de los estudiantes para desarrollar el idioma inglés. Estos materiales auténticos se pueden utilizar para explorar diferentes temas y promover estudiantes independientes. Esta investigación también propone un cuadernillo basado en contenidos y vocabulario del “Ministerio de Educación Ecuatoriano”, para utilizar como guía para complementar el proceso de escucha con actividades de pre-listening, during-listening, and post-listening para estudiantes de nivel A.1.1.
