Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio con diseño no experimental, enfoque cuantitativo, transversal, descriptivo y observacional, investigando factores predisponentes de las gestantes con infecciones preparto en el Hospital General Martin Icaza de Babahoyo Enero 2017- Diciembre 2019. Resultados: Se encontraron 557 gestantes con infecciones preparto, la edad de presentación fue 18 a 24 años (64%), etnia mestiza (89%), nivel socioeconómico medio (80%), los factores de riesgo encontrados: infecciones de vías urinarias(33%), vulvovaginitis previas con mala respuesta al tratamiento(28%), vulvovaginitis previas no tratadas(39%), la multiparidad 60%, vida sexual activa (67%), en la semana 37 se presentaron con mayor frecuencia (39%), controles prenatales no adecuados (66%). La vía de parto frecuente fue la vía vaginal (89%). Se encontraron afecciones neonatales un (5%) Conclusión: Se logra demostrar que la presencia de factores de riesgo para las infecciones preparto en las gestantes, son datos que se deben valorar adecuadamente para evitar su presentación.Introduction: Prepartum infections in pregnant women are found within the usual consultations of prenatal controls, being considered as responsible for high maternal fetal morbidity and mortality, and we know that it is due to the presence of predisposing factors. Materials and Methods: A study with a non-experimental design, quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational approach was carried out, investigating predisposing factors of pregnant women with antepartum infections at the Martin Icaza General Hospital in Babahoyo January 2017- December 2019. Results: 557 were found pregnant women with antepartum infections, the age of presentation was 18 to 24 years (64%), mixed ethnicity (89%), medium socioeconomic level (80%), the risk factors found: urinary tract infections (33%), vulvovaginitis previous patients with poor response to treatment (28%), previous untreated vulvovaginitis (39%), multiparity 60%, active sexual life (67%), at week 37 they presented more frequently (39%), prenatal controls did not adequate (66%). The common delivery route was the vaginal route (89%). Neonatal conditions were found in one (5%). Conclusion: It is possible to demonstrate that the presence of risk factors for antepartum infections in pregnant women are data that must be adequately assessed to avoid their presentation.Universidad de Guayaquil.
