Es por eso, que el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo analizar los créditos otorgados por el sistema financiero al sector agropecuario del Ecuador, durante el periodo 2016 – 2020, para ello se trabajó bajo un enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, para dar respuesta a las preguntas de investigación. Los resultados que se obtuvieron mediante el análisis de tablas y figuras reflejan que los créditos otorgados por el sistema financiero nacional han tenido una tendencia creciente durante el periodo de estudio. Sin embargo, la evidencia empírica demuestra que los créditos no han incidido significativamente en el crecimiento del sector agropecuario del Ecuador, la cual permitió rechazar la hipótesis planteada en la investigación. Se propuso una serie de recomendaciones de políticas públicas para impulsar el crecimiento y desarrollo del sector con la finalidad de tener un agro próspero, competitivo y sostenible en el tiempo.The lack of financing for productive development is one of the problems facing the Ecuadorian agricultural sector. That is why the present work aims to analyze the credits granted by the financial system to the agricultural sector of Ecuador, during the period 2016 - 2020, for this we worked under a quantitative and qualitative approach, to answer the questions of research. The results obtained through the analysis of tables and figures reflect that the credits granted by the national financial system have had a growing trend during the study period. However, empirical evidence shows that credits have not had a significant impact on the growth of the agricultural sector in Ecuador, which allowed rejecting the hypothesis raised in the research.
