El presente trabajo de investigación trata sobre las técnicas psicológicas aplicadas en odontopediatría a pacientes autistas. Objetivo: describir las técnicas psicológicas aplicadas en odontopediatría a pacientes autistas. Materiales y Métodos: investigación con enfoque cualitativo, bibliográfico, y documental basado en el levantamiento de información de fuentes primarias y secundarias, revistas científicas como: Medigrafic, Scielo y otros sitios web. Método analíticosintético, histórico-lógico, empleando la técnica de revisión bibliografía; el instrumento de recolección de datos fue el listado de fuentes bibliográficas actualizadas. Resultados: la actitud que aquellos pacientes adquieren desde la ansiedad y el temor se vuelve tangente en el área de la psicología y salud, debido al entorno que experimentan desde su hogar, las actitudes que demuestran de acuerdo a la apariencia del odontopediatra, donde brindan una una impresión emotiva o negativa en su comportamiento infantil. Conclusión: la conducta del Odontopediatra influye de acuerdo a su entorno, el ambiente de la clínica, las lesiones que puede presentar el paciente al realizar la exploración física extraoral e intraoral. El profesional debe estar capacitado y apto para desarrollar habilidades que se presenten dentro del área Odontológica.The problems that affect the exercise of a dental treatment plan in those patients with autism spectrum disorder is the inappropriate way of being able to approach from the previous appointment, due to the lack of collaboration of the pediatric patient, the lack of communication on the part of the professional, as well influences the work environment that can cause the development of fear or anxiety in the child and imbalance of behavior. This research work deals with the psychological techniques applied in pediatric dentistry to autistic patients. Objective: to describe the psychological techniques applied in pediatric dentistry to autistic patients. Materials and Methods: research with a qualitative, bibliographic, and documentary approach based on the collection of information from primary and secondary sources, scientific journals such as: Medigrafic, Scielo and other websites. Analytical-synthetic, historical-logical method, using the bibliography review technique; The data collection instrument was the list of updated bibliographic sources. Results: the attitude that those patients acquire from anxiety and fear becomes tangent in the area of psychology and health, due to the environment that they experience from their home,the attitudes that they demonstrate according to the appearance of the pediatric dentist, where they provide a emotional or negative impression on their childish behavior. Conclusion: the behavior of the Pediatric Dentist influences according to his environment, the clinic environment, the injuries that the patient may present when performing the extraoral and intraoral physical examination.
