Se llevó a cabo un estudio cuantitativo de tipología descriptiva. La población de este estudio la conformaron 70 escolares de 6 a 12 años y fue posible acceder a la totalidad de la misma. Referente a los instrumentos, técnicas y métodos para la recolección de datos se aplicaron: Cuestionario del funcionamiento familiar (FFSIL), APGAR Familiar y Test NEUROPSI Atención y Memoria 2da edición. Entre los resultados que destacan en el estudio, se evidencia en todas las dimensiones de la atención los escolares se encuentran en su mayoría en un nivel de normalidad (normal alto –normal), teniendo una tendencia de alteración en la dimensión de atención selectiva. En sentido de la estructura y funcionalidad familiar dentro de las familias extensas y disfuncionales, se presentaron la mayor parte de los casos de escolares con alteración (leve y severa) en la atención, a diferencia de los escolares con familias nucleares y funcionales, los cuales alcanzaron altos niveles de la normalidad atencional. También se obtuvo que durante la edad escolar se van desarrollando las dimensiones atencionales, en un inicio partiendo con la atención sostenida, seguido de la selectiva y finalmente en la adolescencia desarrollando el control atencionalThis paper aimed to characterize the attention processes of schoolchildren attending the Nurtac Foundation. A quantitative study of descriptive typology was carried out. The population of this study was made up of 70 schoolchildren aged 6 to 12 years and it was possible to access all of it. Regarding the instruments, techniques and methods for data collection were applied: Family functioning questionnaire (FFSIL), Family APGAR and NEUROPSI Test Attention and Memory 2nd edition. Among the results that stand out in the study, it is evident in all the dimensions of the attention the schoolchildren are mostly in a level of normality (normal high-normal), having a tendency of alteration in the dimension of selective attention. In the sense of family structure and functionality within large and dysfunctional families, most cases of schoolchildren with (mild and severe) alteration in care were presented, unlike schoolchildren with nuclear and functional families, which reached high levels of attention normality.
