In the development of the project, it was discovered that the students had not developed their pragmatic competence and therefore the expected level of English of the students was below than expected in the National Curriculum (B1. 1). The use of authentic materials was not highlighted, which is the reason that the creation of a didactic guide to learn with television programs through the use of the Edpuzzle platform was proposed. This would allow them to learn through this type of authentic materials. This guide is also for teachers to use it in class or as reinforcement to improve pragmatic competence since it is easy to access and use.El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el impacto de los materiales auténticos para desarrollar la competencia pragmática en estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL) de 2do BGU de la Unidad Educativa Particular Bilingüe Liceo Los Delfines. En el desarrollo del proyecto se descubrió que los estudiantes no habían desarrollado su competencia pragmática y por lo tanto el nivel de inglés esperado de los estudiantes estaba por debajo de lo esperado en el Currículo Nacional (B1.1). No se destacó el uso de materiales auténticos, razón por la cual se propuso la creación de una guía didáctica para aprender con programas de televisión mediante el uso de la plataforma Edpuzzle. Esto les permitiría aprender a través de este tipo de materiales auténticos. Esta guía también es para que los docentes la utilicen en clase o como refuerzo para mejorar la competencia pragmática ya que es de fácil acceso y uso.Universidad de Guayaquil.
