MATILDE HIDALGO DE PROCELCANTON GUAYAQUILECUADORPDFLa diabetes gestacional se ha definido como la intolerancia a la glucosa que se diagnostica por primera vez en el embarazo, y constituye una de las complicaciones más frecuentes de la gestación, se ha determinado que existen factores predisponentes que aumentan el riesgo de desarrollar diabetes gestacional, como la obesidad, el sobrepeso, antecedentes familiares de diabetes mellitus, antecedentes previos de diabetes gestacional. A la vez se evidencio, que esta patología conlleva complicaciones materno- fetales como la macrosomía fetal, prematuridad, hipoglucemia, hiperbilirrubinemia, síndrome de distrés respiratorio, y preeclampsia. Objetivo: Determinar los factores que predisponen la diabetes gestacional. Método: Estudio de tipo observacional, no experimental, transversal, de tipo retrospectivo en el Hospital Matilde Hidalgo de Procel durante el periodo de enero 2020 a diciembre 2021. Resultados: En la presente serie se evidencio, que el grupo etario más frecuente pertenece al grupo comprendido entre los 26-30 años con un 34%. Entre los factores de riesgo más prevalentes se determinó que el 65% de la muestra tenía antecedentes familiares de diabetes, y la gran mayoría mantenía un estado nutricional inadecuado, en donde el más frecuente fue la obesidad tipo I con un 40%. La edad gestacional al momento de parto más frecuente fue la semana 38 con un 40%. Entre las complicaciones materno fetales la más frecuente fue la macrosomía fetal hallada en un 30% seguida por la prematuridad con un 29%, la preeclamsia con un 18% y la hipoglucemia neonatal con un 12%.Gestational diabetes has been defined as glucose intolerance that is diagnosed for the first time in pregnancy, and constitutes one of the most frequent complications of pregnancy, it has been determined that there are predisposing factors that increase the risk of developing gestational diabetes, such as obesity, overweight, family history of diabetes mellitus, previous history of gestational diabetes. At the same time, it was evidenced that this pathology entails maternal-fetal complications such as fetal macrosomia, prematurity, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, respiratory distress syndrome, and preeclampsia. Objective: To determine the factors that predispose to gestational diabetes. Method: Observational, non-experimental, cross-sectional, retrospective study at the Matilde Hidalgo de Procel Hospital during the period from January 2020 to December 2021. Results: In this series it was shown that the most frequent age group belongs to the group between 26-30 years with 34%. Among the most prevalent risk factors are that 65% of the sample had a family history of diabetes, and the vast majority have an inadequate nutritional status, where the most frequent was type I obesity with 40%.
