This project is based on articles, previous theses, and scientific researches related to its variables – vocabulary and speaking. Furthermore, regarding to the data recollection tools like a virtual observation of the class, a survey to the students, and an interview with the teacher confirmed that there is a problem in the development of speaking skills that affects this population. Moreover, the research made by the authors confirmed that students have a lack of vocabulary, an inability to produce new words, and as a consequence, students cannot say sentences aloud. For this reason, the authors of this study come up with a didactic guide to teach A2.1 level vocabulary using realia media to strengthen speaking skills.Este proyecto de investigación examina el bajo nivel de vocabulario y la escasa participación en actividades de habla en los estudiantes A 2.1 de Décimo año de Educación Básica del colegio “Provincia del Carchi”, período lectivo 2020-2021. Este proyecto se desarrolla en artículos, tesis previas e investigaciones relacionados con sus variables - vocabulario y habla. Las herramientas de recolección de datos como la observación virtual de la clase, una encuesta a los estudiantes, y una entrevista al docente confirmaron que existe un problema en el desarrollo del habla que afecta a esta población. Además, la investigación realizada por los autores confirmó que los estudiantes tienen una falta de vocabulario, una incapacidad para producir nuevas palabras y, como consecuencia, los estudiantes no pueden organizar oraciones en voz alta. Por esta razón, los autores de este estudio elaboran una guía didáctica para enseñar vocabulario de nivel A2.1 utilizando objetos reales para fortalecer las habilidades del hablaUniversidad de Guayaquil.
