Metodología: Descriptiva, cuantitativo. Diseño de la investigación: No experimental, retrospectivo, indirecto. Resultados: En el Hospital Liborio Panchana Sotomayor en el periodo del 2016 al 2017 los pacientes que se diagnosticaron con colecistitis aguda tenemos 290, de las colecistitis crónica 150, de otras colelitiasis hay 220 y otras colecistitis 170 pacientes, de estos: 232 pacientes se les realizó el procedimiento quirúrgico de colecistectomía donde 30 presentaron XV complicaciones como: fístula colecisto-entérica, colecistitis gangrenosa y fístula colecisto-gátrica; y 100 colecistostomía realizadas en las cuales 50 presentaron complicaciones como: colecistitis gangrenosa, fístula colecisto-gástrica, empiema y fístula colecisto-entérica. En el sexo femenino que se realizó el procedimiento de Colecistectomía hay una mayor frecuencia de este método con 162 pacientes, los de sexo masculino se obtuvo la cantidad de 70 pacientes; en cambio, con la Colecistostomía la cantidad de pacientes masculinos tenemos 30 y femeninos 70 pacientes, siendo un mayor porcentaje. A los pacientes que se utilizaron los métodos de colecistectomía y colecistostomía, de acuerdo con la edad se obtuvo: mayores de 45 años 122 pacientes, estableciendo estas edades como las más concurrentes en realizarse estos procedimientos. De acuerdo a los síntomas y signos que presentaron en los tratamientos quirúrgicos de colecistectomía y colecistostomía tenemos: Dolor abdominal con 200 pacientes, náuseas con 50 de ellos, vómitos se obtiene 50 pacientes, y otros síntomas no específicos con 32 pacientes; y por último dependiendo de las comorbilidades que presentaban los pacientes se obtiene como las más frecuentes la Hipertensión arterial con una cantidad de 20 pacientes, y en segunda instancia la Diabetes mellitus con 15 pacientes. En definitiva, la colecistectomía es una técnica más segura y efectiva que conserva las ventajas de la colecistostomía, con un bajo número de complicaciones.Objective: To determine the complications of cholecystectomy vs cholecystostomy in patients attending the Liborio Panchana Sotomayor Hospital in 2016 - 2017. Methodology: Descriptive, quantitative. Research design: Non-experimental, retrospective, indirect. XVII Research design: In the Hospital Liborio Panchana Sotomayor in the period from 2016 to 2017 the patients who were diagnosed with acute cholecystitis have 290, of the chronic cholecystitis 150, of other cholelithiasis there are 220 and other cholecystitis 170 patients, of these: 232 patients underwent the Surgical procedure of cholecystectomy where 30 presented complications such as cholecystoenteric fistula, gangrenous cholecystitis and cholecystogastric fistula; and 100 cholecystostomy performed in which 50 presented complications such as gangrenous cholecystitis, cholecystogastric fistula, empyema, and cholecystoenteric fistula. In the female sex who underwent the cholecystectomy procedure there is a higher frequency of this method with 162 patients, the male sex was obtained the number of 70 patients; however, with the Cholecystostomy the number of male patients we have 30 and female patients 70, with a higher percentage. The patients who used the methods of cholecystectomy and cholecystostomy, according to age, obtained: 122 patients older than 45 years, establishing these ages as the most concurrent in performing these procedures. According to the symptoms and signs presented in the surgical treatments of cholecystectomy and cholecystostomy we have: Abdominal pain with 200 patients, nausea with 50 of them, vomiting 50 patients is obtained, and other non-specific symptoms with 32 patients; and finally, depending on the comorbidities that patients presented, hypertension was obtained as the most frequent with a quantity of 20 patients, and in the second instance, Diabetes mellitus with 15 patients. In short, cholecystectomy is a safer and more effective technique that preserves the advantages of cholecystostomy, with a low number of complications.Universidad de Guayaquil.
