Por ello trabajamos en estudios de la Artemisia Absinthium para así tratar de prevenir este tipo de patologías. El presente trabajo de titulación tiene como objetivo principal determinar la capacidad antioxidante mediante el método DPPH, como también determinar el contenido de fenoles totales por método de Folin-Ciocalteu y además determinar la presencia de metabolitos secundarios mediante tamizaje fitoquímico preliminar de los extractos hidroalcohólico de las hojas y tallos de la Artemisia Absinthium. En la determinación de metabolitos secundarios del extracto de las hojas dieron como resultados positivos: Triterpenos/Esteroles, Flavonoides, Taninos/Fenoles. Mientras que el extracto de tallos nos arrojó un resultado positivo en: Triterpenos/Esteroles, Flavonoides, Taninos/Fenoles. Se logró evaluar la actividad antioxidante en el extracto del tallo, dando como resultado 447,05 mg/ml IC50, por otro lado, el resultado de actividad antioxidantes del extracto de las hojas dio un resultado de 436,94 mg/ml. En los análisis para la determinación de fenoles totales para el extracto del tallo, nos arrojó un resultado de 0,07038 mg GAE/G, por otro lado, el resultado de fenoles totales del extracto de las hojas fue de 0,06675 mg GAE/g.We can attribute the excessive presence of free radicals in the human body as the cause of the growth of cancerous tumors, because it generates oxidative stress causing cell degeneration, causing the development of chronic diseases. That is why we work on studies of Artemisia Absinthium in order to try to prevent this type of pathology. The main objective of this titration work is to determine the antioxidant capacity by means of the DPPH method, as well as to determine the content of total phenols by the Folin- Ciocalteu method and also to determine the presence of secondary metabolites by preliminary phytochemical screening of the hydroalcoholic extracts of the leaves and stems of the Artemisia Absinthium. In the determination of secondary metabolites of the leaf extract, the following results were positive: Triterpenes/Sterols, Flavonoids, Tannins/Phenols. While the stem extract gave us a positive result in: Triterpenes/Sterols, Flavonoids, Tannins/Phenols. It was possible to evaluate the antioxidant activity in the stem extract, resulting in 447.05 mg/ml IC50, on the other hand, the result of antioxidant activity of the leaf extract gave a result of 436.94 mg/ml.
