The research concerns with making groups from two to six to enhance the oral production by creating a comfortable environment and rules serving as policies to attain the expected goals. Regarding the problem described with the students of the first year of Baccalaureate of the Cotopaxi Province Public High School, various causes were found such as an inadequate application of group work techniques, motivational issues, and inappropriate expositions after the survey made to the students. As a result of these, a teaching guide based on group work techniques was designed to motivate students to develop the speaking skill of the English language. In the process of this educational project, various types of the investigation were implemented, such as field, descriptive, exploratory, qualitative and quantitative. Empirical methods: observation, interview, and survey; theoretical: inductive and deductive. And the mathematical statistical method: descriptive statistics. The “Proximal Zone Development” is one of the most remarkable statements of Vygotsky’s learning theories, related to group work techniques performance in the second language acquisition. Many theories related to the acquisition of the language have been considered by Krashen and Chomsky, stating the first one that “human beings are not aware of the language acquisition but of the language learned”; and the last one manifesting that “there exists a universal grammar”, therefore “we have a brain device involved in the learning process permitting us the acquisition of the languageEl presente estudio tiene como objetivo explorar las técnicas de trabajo en grupo para desarrollar la expresión oral, destrezas que implican habilidades comunicativas en el idioma inglés. La investigación se refiere a hacer grupos de dos a seis para mejorar la producción oral mediante la creación de un ambiente cómodo y reglas que sirven como políticas para alcanzar las metas previstas. Respecto al problema descrito con los estudiantes del primer año de Bachillerato del Colegio Fiscal Provincia de Cotopaxi, varias causas fueron encontradas, tales como la inadecuada aplicación de técnicas de trabajo grupal, situaciones motivacionales y exposiciones inapropiadas, luego de la encuesta realizada a los alumnos. Como resultado de esto, fue diseñada una guía didáctica basada en técnicas de trabajo en grupo para motivar a los estudiantes a mejorar el idioma inglés. En el proceso de este proyecto educativo, se llevaron a cabo diversos tipos de investigación, como la investigación de campo, descriptiva, exploratoria, cualitativa y cuantitativa. Métodos empíricos: observación, entrevista y encuesta; teóricos: inductivo y deductivo. Y el método de estadísticas matemáticas: estadística descriptiva. La "Zona de Desarrollo Próximo" es una de las declaraciones más notables de las teorías de aprendizaje de Vygotsky, relacionadas con el rendimiento de las técnicas de trabajo grupal en la adquisición del segundo idioma.
