La investigación sobre “Conductas de resiliencia en adolescentes que vivenciaron el terremoto del 16 de abril del 2016” tuvo como objetivo principal describir las conductas de resiliencia utilizadas por adolescentes del refugio Reales Tamarindos de la ciudad de Portoviejo, se desplegó en el marco de una metodología exploratoria-descriptiva, las técnicas utilizadas fueron: la observación, la entrevista a profundidad, la Escala de Resiliencia SV- RES para establecer el nivel de resiliencia en forma general y determinar factores específicos; y, un grupo focal para recoger las actitudes y reacciones de los adolescentes de un grupo con iguales características, realizado en la ciudad de Manta. Como resultados relevantes se obtuvo que los adolescentes pese a que vivieron momentos de temor e incertidumbre durante la catástrofe, superaron emociones negativas para emerger en ellos sentimientos de solidaridad ante el dolor y sufrimiento, empatía y colaboración hacia quienes estaban atravesando la misma situación, conductas positivas para superar el trauma que ocasionó la catástrofe vivida. Las conclusiones se describieron desde el punto de vista de la resiliencia, seguridad y valentía que demostraron los adolescentes durante y después de la catástrofe y recomendaciones destinadas a estudiar más la resiliencia en desastres dirigida hacia otros grupos vulnerables y comunitariosDisasters are natural or caused by human action, can originate anywhere, without prior notice, the different ways in which people respond to these events, is the subject of multiple studies today.
