Objetivo: Establecer la caracterización de los factores predisponentes a ruptura prematura de membrana en pacientes del Hospital General del Norte de Guayaquil IESS “Los Ceibos” Materiales y Método: El trabajo de investigación realizado posee un enfoque cuantitativo; con diseño no experimental, transversal y retrospectivo. Resultados: La población más afecta se encuentra entre el rango de 30 a 32 años de edad (33%), que suele afectar a la semanas delimitada entre la 24 a 34 semanas de gestación (71%); las Infecciones de vías urinarias (IVU) con un 51% es el principal factor causante de una RPM; y la complicación materna más frecuentemente es la corioamnionitis (17%). Conclusiones: El principal factor de riesgo que tienen las gestantes ante una ruptura prematura de membrana son las infecciones de vías urinaria (IVU).Introduction: Prelabor rupture of membranes is defined as the rupture of the chorioamniotic membranes that occurs from 20 weeks of gestation until before labor begins; usually preceded by the onset of contractions. Objective: To establish the characterization of the predisposing factors to premature rupture of the membrane in patients of the General Hospital of the North of Guayaquil IESS "Los Ceibos". Materials and Method: The research work carried out has a approach quantitative; with non-experimental, cross sectional and retrospective design. Results: The most affected population is between the range of 30 to 32 years of age (33%), which usually affects the weeks delimited between 24 to 34 weeks of gestation (71%); Urinary tract infections (UTI) with 51% is the main factor causing a PRM; and the most frequent maternal complication is chorioamnionitis (17%). Conclusions: The main risk factor that pregnant women have in the context of a prelabor rupture of the membrane are urinary tract infections (UTI).Universidad de Guayaquil.
