El diseño de la investigación es no experimental, cuantitativo, con un tipo de investigación retrospectivo transversal, la técnica utilizada fue la revisión de documentos. Se revisaron 40 historias clínicas que corresponden a pacientes diagnosticadas con hemorragia postparto en el Hospital Materno Infantil Matilde Hidalgo de Procel en el año 2021, se evidenció que el factor de riesgo más frecuente para el desarrollo de una hemorragia post parto es la preeclampsia o hipertensión gestacional y se determinó que la causa con mayor incidencia es la retención de restos placentarios. Palabras Claves: Hemorragia, Postparto, Factores de riesgoDuring pregnancy is important the evaluation of the patient’s risk factors, in a postpartum hemorrhage the correct management and knowing how to identify these factors can avoid complications and therefore contributes to reduce maternal fetal morbidity and mortality. The design of the research is non-experimental, quantitative, with a type of cross-sectional retrospective research, the technique used was the review of documents. We reviewed 40 medical records that correspond to patients diagnosed with postpartum hemorrhage at the Hospital Materno Infantile Matilde Hidalgo de Procel in the year 2021, it was evidenced that the most frequent risk factor for the development of postpartum hemorrhage is preeclampsia or gestational hypertension, and it was determined that the cause with the highest incidence is the retention of placental remains.
