La metodología aplicada que se utilizó mediante el método científico basado en una investigación exploratoria en el proceso de acería en donde se identificaron áreas críticas de riesgos con mayor número de accidentes e incidentes a través de técnicas y herramientas estratégicas de ingeniería industrial entre estas tenemos la matriz “IPER” Identificación de peligro y Evaluación de riesgos aplicando el método de INSHT que utiliza dos variables que son probabilidad y consecuencia y como resultado el índice de gravedad del riesgo, permitiendo el resultado de severidad del riegos como crítico o bajo. Este estudio de campo fue Exploratorio e identifico las áreas críticas con mayor frecuencia de accidentes y enfermedades profesionales con las consiguientes recomendaciones llevando un mantenimiento del SGP para tener la efectividad y eficacia en la normativa y el proceso productivo, La relación costo – beneficio analizada ha permitido a la Empresa a tener una mejor visión no solo como un Sistema para prevenir accidente de trabajo o enfermedades profesionales, sino como una manera de obtener una mejor rentabilidad. Demostrando la viabilidad de la inversión puesto que por cada dólar invertido en Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional de llevar a cabo el Sistema de Gestión de Prevención de Riesgo Laboral, la empresa recuperará $1,30 dólares.This research proposes to implement a Safety Management System of the Occupational risks in the steelmaking process in the Company ANDEC S.A. in order to prevent accidents and occupational diseases, controlling and minimizing the accident rate to which the employee is exposed in the process before mentioned. The methodology used was the scientific method based on an exploratory investigation in the process of steelmaking, where critical areas of risk with the highest number of accidents and incidents were identified through technical and strategic tools of industrial engineering, such is the matrix "IPER", risk identification and risk assessment, applying INSHT method using two variables probability and consequence and as a result the risk severity index, allowing the result of severity of the risks as critical or low. This study was exploratory and identified critical areas with greater frequency of accidents and occupational diseases, with recommendations leading maintenance SMS to have the effectiveness and efficiency in the regulations and the production process. The cost - benefit analyzed has allowed the company to have a better view not only as a system to prevent workplace accidents or occupational diseases, but as a way to get a better return demonstrating the viability of investment since every dollar invested in occupational safety and health dollar, if carried out Management System of Occupational Risk Prevention, the company will recover to $ 1.30.Universidad de Guayaquil.
