La raíz de este problema, emerge en la fata de conocimiento de las normativas vigentes, lo cual conlleva que las cifras de maltrato y crueldad animal, se eleven con el pasar de los años; siendo sus principales causas la tenencia irresponsable, el abandono y la violencia en todas sus formas; evidenciando así, una insuficiente vigilancia en el cumplimiento de todo lo plasmado en nuestra normativa, partiendo desde la Constitución, el Código Orgánico del Ambiente, el Código Orgánico Integral Penal y demás normativa complementaria. Aunque son seres sintientes, su protección ha sido una ardua lucha al menos en nuestro país, que se pretende corregir en los años posteriores. Although our country is a guarantor of the rights of nature and in them, animals in all their species, having as an end the good living human-nature, in practice it is not evident. The root of this problem emerges in the lack of knowledge of current regulations, which leads to the figures of animal cruelty and mistreatment, rising over the years, with its main causes being irresponsible ownership, abandonment and violence in all its forms, thus demonstrating an insufficient monitoring in compliance with everything embodied in our regulations, starting from the Constitution, the Organic Environmental Code, the Organic Penal Code and other complementary legislation. Although they are sentient beings, their protection has been an arduous struggle at least in our country, which is intended to be corrected in the following years.Universidad de Guayaquil.
