La metodología desarrollada en la presente investigación fue mediante los métodos empíricos; como la observación, basada en analizar la actividad existente en el lugar de estudio y mediante encuestas se pudo efectuar preguntas a los visitantes para conocer su opinión de preferencias de actividades turísticas y realizar entrevista al secretario general del GAD Municipal Yaguachi y secretario de la Catedral. También se utilizaron los métodos teóricos, así como el analítico, sintético, histórico, deductivo e inductivo. Esta metodología fue aplicada con el objetivo de observar los hechos y acontecimientos, para mediante recolección de datos realizar la tabulación de los mismos y expresarlos en cuadros y gráficos estadísticos para dar solución al problema planteado. Los resultados obtenidos durante el diagnóstico del potencial turístico fue la poca afluencia de turistas nacionales y extranjeros, llegando a la conclusión que es necesario impulsar el desarrollo de un producto turístico cultural y promocionar el turismo de la localidad, además mejorar la seguridad, la prestación de servicios y terminar obras que aún no concluyen. Para potenciar el turismo en Yaguachi Nuevo es necesario establecer fuertes estrategias para brindar un turismo de calidad.Due to the tourist conditions of the Yaguachi cantonal head, this research was carried out, which consists in making a diagnosis of its tourist potential, presenting as a scientific novelty the proposal of a cultural tourism product that contributes to its strengthening, maintaining as a general objective the realization of the tourist diagnosis of Yaguachi Nuevo to know its current situation and to be able to improve its tourist activity. The methodology developed in the present research was through empirical methods; Such as the observation, based on analyzing the activity in the study site and through surveys, it was possible to ask questions to visitors to know their opinion of tourism activities and to interview the general secretary of the GAD Municipal Yaguachi and secretary of the Cathedral. The theoretical, as well as the analytical, synthetic, historical, deductive and inductive methods were also used. This methodology was applied with the objective of observing the facts and events, by collecting data to tabulate them and express them in tables and statistical graphs to solve the problem. The results obtained during the diagnosis of tourism potential were the small influx of domestic and foreign tourists, concluding that it is necessary to promote the development of a cultural tourism product and promote tourism in the locality, in addition to improving security, the provision of services and finish works that do not yet conclude.
