En esta investigación desarrollaremos el uso de las FM como medio de terapia para tratar el bruxismo que comúnmente se lo conoce como “rechinar los dientes” es un hábito inconsciente de ejercer presión sobre las superficies oclusales de los dientes lo cual provoca el desgaste de las caras oclusales y bordes incisales de los dientes e incluso puede llegar a ocasionar distintas molestias como dolor de cabeza, dolor de los músculos de la mandíbula, cuello y oído. El principal objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación fue desarrollar una revisión bibliográfica actualizada acerca de la efectividad del uso de férulas miorrelajantes en el tratamiento de un paciente con bruxismo; para lo cual se realizó un estudio y valoración exhaustiva de postulados relevantes acerca del tema.Myorelaxing splint (MS) is a removable intra-oral device made of transparent acrylic which adapts to the surfaces of the teeth. MS is commonly used for the treatment of temporomandibular disorders. In this research, we will develop the use of MS as a means of therapy for treating bruxism which is commonly referred to as "clenching teeth". Clenching teeth is an unconscious habit of exerting pressure on the occlusal surfaces of the teeth, which weakens the occlusal surfaces and incisal edges of the teeth and can even lead to different discomfort such as headache, pain in the muscles of the jaw, neck and ear. The objective of this research was to develop an updated bibliographic review about the effectiveness of the use of myorelaxing splints in the treatment of a patient with bruxism; for which a study and exhaustive evaluation of relevant postulates on the subject was carried out.Universidad de Guayaquil.
