La maloclusión Clase III generalmente se manifiesta desde una edad muy temprana y se evidencia por una relación incisal borde a borde o por una mordida cruzada anterior. El objetivo de esta investigación fue establecer la aparatología ortopédica utilizada en rehabilitación de pacientes clase III en dentición mixta. El diseño de la investigación fue de tipo cualitativo, exploratorio, documental; la metodología aplicada fue la analítica-sintética. La técnica utilizada fue la revisión bibliográfica de estudios similares que permitió determinar los aparatos utilizados para el tratamiento de los pacientes con las maloclusiones clase III. La conclusión de este estudio fue que hay dos tipos de aparatología que pueden actuar sobre la clase III, los mismos que pueden ser aparatos funcionales o mecánicos. Los dispositivos ortodónticos mecánicos son aquellos que realizan fuerzas no funcionales generando cambios en los maxilares entre estos se mencionan para corrección de esta maloclusión la mentonera y máscara facial, y como dispositivos funcionales los cuales actúan sobre las estructuras del aparato estomatognático, es decir músculos, dientes, huesos permitiendo la estimulación o deteniendo el crecimiento óseo y logrando reeducar la musculatura para la corrección de esta maloclusión están Bimler C, Klammt para clase III y Bionator para clase III.Currently part of the population has an abnormal alignment of the teeth called malocclusion Class III is a heterogeneous dentofacial phenotype characterized by excessive growth of the jaw, a maxillary deficiency, or a combination of both and can occur as part of the syndrome or in isolation. The objective of this research was to establish the orthopedic appliances used in the rehabilitation of class III patients in mixed dentition. The research design was qualitative, exploratory, documentary; the applied methodology was analytical-synthetic. The technique used was the bibliographic review of similar studies that made it possible to determine the devices used for the treatment of patients with class III malocclusions. The conclusion of this study was that there are two types of appliances that can act on class III, the same ones that can be functional or mechanical appliances. Mechanical orthodontic devices are those that perform non-functional forces generating changes in the jaws, among them the chin guard and facial mask are mentioned for correction of this malocclusion, and as functional devices which act on the structures of the stomatognathic apparatus, that is, muscles, teeth , bones allowing stimulation or stopping bone growth and achieving reeducation of the musculature for the correction of this malocclusion are Bimler C, Klammt for class III and Bionator for class III.Universidad de Guayaquil.
