De etiología multifactorial influyendo la genética y funcionalidad. Este crecimiento ocurre generalmente cerca de la línea milohioidea, opuesto a los premolares, pero se puede extender del canino al primer molar. La mucosa que los recubre tiende a ser fina y no tolera por lo general las fuerzas de las prótesis que se colocan encima de ellos. El objetivo de nuestro tratamiento es ddeterminar y analizar la eficacia de la técnica de cincel y martillo y además diagnosticar las complicaciones originadas por la presencia del torus mandibular. El resultado del tratamiento de torus mandibular mediante la técnica de cincel y martillo tuvo como resultado un éxito tanto en el diagnóstico y planeación quirúrgica. Además de la planeación pre quirúrgica, el trans-operatorio fue mínimamente invasivo y con la técnica quirúrgica adecuada para proteger los detalles anatómicos mediante el minucioso manejo de tejidos blandos y duros. Por lo que el post operatorio y la recuperación fueron rápida e inmediata, dando mejoras en la calidad de vida del paciente solucionando la afección que tenía la cual era dificultad para alimentarse y dificultad para hablar.The Mandibular Torus is a exostosis or bone growth on the lingual surface of the mandible can be simple, lobed or multiple, with size of 0.3mm or greater. The result of treatment of mandibular torus by chisel and hammer technique resulted in a success both in the diagnosis and surgical planning. In addition to the presurgical planning, the trans-operative was minimally invasive and with proper surgical technique to protect the anatomical details through careful management of hard and soft tissues. So the post operative and recovery was rapid and immediate, giving improvements in the quality of life of patients solving the condition which was had difficulty feeding and difficulty speaking.Universidad de Guayaquil.
