In this study, methodologies and tools were used to gather information about the problem, the data collection methods used were the mixed method with a descriptive and explanatory approach, as well as the application of research elements such as surveys to 10th-grade students, an interview with the English teacher of the institution and a class observation sheet. With these methods, it was possible to collect and analyze the data obtained that helped to support the importance and effectiveness of the use of didactic resources to promote the development of reading in the English language. Thus, creating a reading booklet as a strategy to guide and improve reading comprehension in A2 level students and provide English teachers with a resource for their students during their class hours. El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue identificar la problemática relacionada con la habilidad lectora de los alumnos del 10º grado paralelo B de la escuela pública Dr. Emilio Uzcátegui García, analizando y exponiendo el impacto de los recursos didácticos en la comprensión lectora, buscando que la propuesta de este estudio pueda ser un recurso motivador para los alumnos del nivel A2 de la escuela. En este estudio se utilizaron metodologías e instrumentos para recolectar información sobre el problema, los métodos de recolección de datos utilizados fueron el método mixto con enfoque descriptivo y explicativo, así como la aplicación de elementos de investigación como encuestas a los estudiantes del grado 10º, una entrevista con el docente de inglés de la institución y una ficha de observación de clase. Con estos métodos fue posible recolectar y analizar los datos obtenidos que ayudaron a sustentar la importancia y efectividad del uso de recursos didácticos para promover el desarrollo de la lectura en el idioma inglés. Creando así un cuadernillo de lectura como estrategia para orientar y mejorar la comprensión lectora en estudiantes de nivel A2 y proporcionar a los docentes de inglés un recurso para sus estudiantes durante sus horas de clase.Universidad de Guayaquil.
